Le Livret des Poignets is a marching drum method book by Alexandre Mahieu, a musician with the Garde Républicaine.
This is neither a teaching method nor a collection of pieces, but a toolbox for deepening the technical side of drumming. It grew out of the author's own frustration at finding no progressive book that tackled one difficulty per worksheet, and gathers technical sheets developed since 2010. You will work through a great many duple and triple rhythms, applying ornaments and rudiments to each. The book also contains the composer's own technical exercises and the rudiments specific to the marching drum.
Designed for one player, it also lends itself to unison playing, in class as in recital.
