Le Coq d'Or is the first book-and-CD release by Percussions Claviers de Lyon, after the tale by Alexander Pushkin.
A warlike tsar, a magician, a golden cockerel and a mysterious princess: the magician gives Tsar Dadon a magic bird that will guard the borders of his kingdom, in exchange for the promise of a wish to be granted later. That is the starting point of this riddle of a tale. Around the story, Percussions Claviers de Lyon have built a cathedral of sound, based on Rimsky-Korsakov's The Golden Cockerel and drawing on other pages by the composer. Denis Podalydès narrates; Étienne Guiol provides the illustrations. Suitable from age 6.
