The Signature Marie-Ange Petit "Baroque" timpani mallets were developed for the historical repertoire and for playing on animal-skin heads. They offer a clear, precise attack with a controlled volume, particularly suited to the balance of the classical and baroque orchestra.
The leather is fitted directly onto the wooden head to soften the attack slightly and bring a softer, rounder tone colour typical of leather, for the late eighteenth-century repertoire.
The head and handle are made of wood, for a direct, natural response. This model is particularly suited to orchestral timpani playing and to the interpretation of the baroque and classical repertoire.
