Vibraphone Mallets Signature Prestige Jean Geoffroy - 01 – Medium Hard
The Signature Prestige Jean Geoffroy 01 Medium Hard mallets produce a bright, velvety, rich and resonant sound, particularly suited to musicians looking for precision, depth and richness of tone. The definition remains articulate and round, with excellent clarity without losing the velvety character of the sound.
Their clean, bright attack retains a lovely softness at quiet dynamics, then naturally gains presence as the dynamic level increases. The projection is full and sustained, while the feel remains responsive, dense and well balanced. Their wide dynamic range and excellent response allow expressive playing, with the fundamental brought further to the fore.
The pronounced weight of the head brings depth, foundation and projection, while reinforcing the fundamental. The Prestige design further accentuates its presence and projection, while the Velvety yarn gives a velvety sound texture while preserving brightness and precision.
Available with rattan or wooden handles. For vibraphone we recommend rattan: more flexible and more comfortable, it also allows the instrument's sound to develop more fully, without the colouration or vibrations inherent to wooden handles.
The Prestige Series wool yarns have been specially developed by Resta-Jay to offer different playing sensations and sound colours. Depending on the model, you can choose between three types of wool yarn:
“Exclusive” Wool yarn
Highly resistant, this wool yarn produces a precise, rich and well-structured sound. Its break-in period is more progressive: the mallets require more playing time to reach their optimal sound, but in return offer excellent durability.
“Clarity” Wool yarn
The original wool yarn used for the Prestige Series. It provides excellent clarity, a fast response and a bright sound. Its break-in period is shorter, allowing the mallets to reach their full sound more quickly, although the wool yarn is slightly less resistant than the Exclusive version.
“Velvety” Wool yarn
Developed to provide a particularly smooth, velvety and comfortable feel, this wool yarn offers a unique playing sensation and allows for a wide range of dynamics and sound colours.
