After starting battery in Marseille in 1986 with Philippe Le Van, he pursued his professional progression at the Nancy musical and creative center with André Charlier, Alain Gozzo and Richard Paul Morellini, and graduated with special mention to the unanimity and with the jury’congratulations.
In 1995, he is also laureate of the Advanced Certificate Program of the Drummers Collective in New York, where he studied with Kim Plainfield, Zach Danziger, John Riley, Duduka Da Fonseca, Gene Jackson.
Franck Agulhon teaches occasionally at the International Music Academy in Nancy, where, since several years, he developed an original pedagogical and artistical approach, illustrated by the project "Solisticks" a series of pieces played in solo, that allows to understand the battery in its globality. Each piece depicts a period, a type of approach, a musical style, a rhythm, a melodic pattern where instant improvisation is essential. Since 2001, He’s also hosting numerous trainings and master classes and works at the Music Center Didier Lockwood.
As a sought-after musician for his listening, his playing flexibility, his rigor and his creativity, he assumed his leadership role, as evidenced by his discography under his own name :
